The Difference Between a Fresh Sermon and Garbage is Timing

The only difference between salad and garbage is timing. A sermon has an expiration date and the pastor must know when the freshness is lost. A few bites of rotten food can spoil the whole meal just like a few minutes of a sermon beyond its freshness can turn stale and ruin the otherwise delightful part of the sermon. It’s better to leave people wanting more than to overfeed. Too much of a good thing can become a bad thing.
