From my understanding of Dispensational theology, the future millennium will involve the reconstitution of the temple, sacrifices, and the administration of the Abrahamic covenant sign of circumcision for Jewish boys. This is curious on many levels, and it’s generally the efficacy of the temple and its sacrificial system that draws the most attention via criticisms, however, the idea of circumcision as covenant sign is worthy of some prodding as well. It would essentially entail an understanding that the covenant status of children is temporarily suspended only in the current dispensation when compared to their prior status under the “old” covenant and future status in the millennium. Would love to hear any thoughts folks have on this if I’m misunderstanding it all.
